Achromatopsia
Achromatopsia is the absence of the ability to distinguish colors. Patients with this condition lack the necessary photoreceptors or the cells that required to process different light colors and end up with having overall decreased visual acuities. The condition usually presents in early childhood and most patients with this condition have nystagmus or "rolling eyes". Another common characteristic or symptom is extreme sensitivity to light. This condition is hereditary and usually runs in families.
